Co. Monaghan Libraries

Monaghan Community Forum was established in 2001 and supports upwards on 350 community and voluntary groups across Co. Monaghan.  In 2011 Monaghan Community Forum secured funding under the Peace III Hands Together Project to provide libraries in Monaghan with digital signage and K.T. Communications won the tender.

Project objectives and scope

Monaghan Community Forum had a wide range of requirements from their new digital signage system including:

  • Ability to promote local events

  • User friendly interface to allow staff to easily alter and update material

  • Be able to update information both locally and remotely

K.T. Communications won the tender with a Oneland digital signage system supplied by distributor Osmosis Ireland Ltd. The Net Top Box (NTB) from Onelan is a small media player which attaches to any screen allowing local users to upload and display text and multimedia content.  Several NTBs can be networked and controlled centrally; allowing library staff to collaborate on content.  We installed Onelnd Net Top Boxes in five locations along with wall mounted LCD flat screens from LG

The fully installed noticeboard system has been well received. Following expert on site training from K.T. Communications. Monaghan Community Forum and selected library stuaff can update content quickly and easily.  They have been delighted with the solution provided and offered the following testimonial;

"All five noticeboards were installed within a matter of weeks and a number of training sessions were provided to our staff.  As the notice boards were erected in the libraries, K.T.Communications provided additional training for a designated staff member from each of the libraries.  This was invaluable to us and means that updates could also be uploaded on a local level.  We would have no hesitation in recommeding K.T. Communications to other organisations." - Dara MacGhabhainn, Monaghan Community Forum
